Overview

Science explores how the natural world works, from tiny atoms and living cells to ecosystems and the wider universe. Students build a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics, along with laboratory techniques, data analysis, scientific research and critical thinking. They gain practical skills through lab work, field trips, research projects and industry placements.

Malaysia is an exciting place to study science. It is one of the world's megadiverse countries, with rainforests, coral reefs and unique wildlife that make a living laboratory for research. Universities offer modern labs and growing links with the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, agriculture and environmental sectors. Programmes are available at every level, all taught in English:

  • Foundation (e.g. Foundation in Science)
  • Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's
  • PhD

Programmes are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and several universities offer dual or twinning degrees with partners in the UK and Australia. Lower tuition and living costs make Malaysia an affordable place to build a career in science and research.
